Inspired by the Bronx River's E. 182nd Street Dam, Xavier designed this sculpture using building materials to simulate a rocky formation with reflective cascading water. Thanks to Emolior Academy scholars— Diamond Acevedo, Abdoula Barry, Darwin Colon, Jailynn Garcia, Juan Latore and Rebecka Vividor—who participated in the Bronx River Art Center's after-school program supported by the Department of Youth & Community and created several depictions of local animals native to the Bronx River including a North American Beaver, American Eel and Snowy White Egret with a focus on the migratory Alewife Herring paying tribute to the new fish passage being built which will enable their return after a 350-year absence.
